Feels Great. Rolls Straight.

OZ.1 is the first Lie Angle Balanced putter with a tour-inspired design. Created with input from Adam Scott, it delivers a true zero-torque putting experience from a new half-moon, solid-body design that feels as good as it rolls.

Backstory

We’ve always wanted to make a tour-inspired putter. We thought it would be fun because of what we’ve learned about tour players over the years. They are positively at a different level when it comes to sensitivities around shape and feel.

It was also opportune timing. Over the last few years, we’ve come to understand Lie Angle Balance at a level that allows us to unlock far more possibilities in terms of design. So back in early 2023, we asked our friend Adam Scott if he’d be interested in collaborating with us… and we did a little dance when he said, “Yes."

Insert Options

OZ.1i Custom and OZ.1i Stock are our first putter models to feature a face insert. While inserts certainly look cool, there is a functional reason for them.

Some golfers prefer a specific sound and feel at impact, and OZ.1i putters have stainless steel inserts that create a firmer feel and faster ball speeds. There are also one-piece, all aluminum OZ.1 Custom and OZ.1 Stock models that feel softer. They will be popular with those that love the way DF3 feels.

In terms of size and shape, OZ.1i and OZ.1 are exactly the same.

Design Inspiration

The OZ.1 design process started over a pint with Adam Scott, where he offered two important pieces of feedback about the look he was seeking. Adam has a fondness for the back end of a certain 2021 high-performance German sports car, and that was where we started with the back of the putter design.

On the front side of the putter, Adam asked us to reimagine one of the most famous mallet putters of all time. We’ll leave it to the internet to make guesses here.

We interpreted the shape of the back of that sports car and the front of that mallet putter for our first prototype. There were things Adam liked a lot, but he also let us know that we didn’t have to take his recommendations quite as literally as we did. He invited us to get creative, and after many more prototypes and conversations, later we proudly landed on this shape.

Solid Body Construction

OZ.1 is our first half-moon style mallet putter, and the solid-body construction of the putter – no large holes or fangs like our other mallet putters – felt incredible from the start. We spent a great deal of time fine tuning OZ.1 to make it the most “normal” mallet putter we’ve ever created in terms of sound and feel. That’s true with both OZ.1i and OZ.1.

Most importantly, we maintained the forgiveness our mallets are known for to make sure OZ.1i and OZ.1 measured up to our extremely popular DF3 and MEZZ.1 MAX putters in terms of stability. Like all of our putters, OZ.1i and OZ.1 are 100% Lie Angle Balanced.

Thanks to Lie Angle Balance, both putters feel great and roll straight. We think the putter that rolls the straightest rolls the best.
