Power in the long irons. Control in the scoring clubs. Cleveland ZipCore XL irons combine MainFrame face technology, ZipCore weighting and forgiving XL heads to help you hit longer approaches and attack the green with confidence.
Product Overview
ZipCore XL uses different technologies throughout the set to match each club’s role. MainFrame supports speed and forgiveness in the 4–7 irons, while ZipCore helps stabilize launch, spin and distance in the 8-iron through sand wedge. HydraZip face treatments and a V-shaped sole round out the design.

Large cavity-back heads and perimeter weighting increase resistance to twisting on off-center strikes.
MainFrame | 4–7 Irons
Grooves, channels and cavities milled behind the face optimize flex at impact. Weight pads position mass low and deep to support distance and stability.
ZipCore | 8-Iron–SW
A lightweight, vibration-dampening material replaces heavier steel in the heel and hosel, helping position the center of gravity nearer the strike location for consistent launch, spin and distance.
HydraZip & Loft-Specific Grooves
The 4–7 irons use a rougher face blast and wider, flatter grooves to limit excess spin. The 8-iron through sand wedge uses a smoother blast and thinner, deeper grooves to support approach-shot spin. Wedge lofts also receive laser milling for short-game control and wet-condition performance.
V-Shaped Sole
An elevated leading edge helps the head move through turf with less drag. Trailing-edge relief supports workability while helping preserve speed through impact.
